WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU'VE SIGNED YOUR CONTRACT AND THE CHAMPAGNE CORK HAS POPPED?

Fear not, my friends! As your seasoned skipper, I'm here to guide you through the seamless journey from booking confirmation to the moment you step aboard your floating paradise.

It's a common question, and a good one! Many first-time charter guests wonder about the logistics, the preparations, and the little details that transform a reservation into a reality. Let me assure you, with Emerald Sail, every step is meticulously planned and executed to ensure your peace of mind and maximize your anticipation. Think of it as the calm before the most incredible storm of relaxation and adventure you've ever experienced. So, let's hoist the sails and navigate the exciting waters of your post-booking journey!
PREFERENCE SHEET: TAILORING YOUR TASTE

Approximately 60 days before your charter begins, you'll receive the most important document in your pre-trip arsenal: the Group Preference Sheet. This isn't just a form; it's your golden ticket to a bespoke culinary and activity experience.

The essence of this document is to share your group's unique desires with the crew. It covers everything from specific food allergies and dietary considerations (Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher, etc.) to your favorite cuisines like Mediterranean, Caribbean, or Thai. You'll specify exactly what you "Like" or "Dislike" across categories like Seafood, Beef, Sushi, and even the intensity of your breakfast! It also includes your bar preferences—from your favorite mixed drinks and specialty cocktails to specific brands of spirits and wines. By completing this, you're essentially handing the Chef and Crew the blueprint for your perfect vacation.
THE CREW LIST: YOUR OFFICIAL MANIFEST

Approximately 60 days before your charter, you will also receive the Crew List document. This is a critical, official manifest required by both the charter company and local authorities in your cruising grounds (USVI, BVI, Bahamas, Europe). It’s not just a formality; it’s your legal entry pass to the yacht!

In this document, you’ll meticulously fill in details for every guest in your group: full name, date of birth, passport information (number, issue, and expiry dates), and contact details. The Crew List also specifies the catamaran’s name, type, manufacturer, and your precise charter dates. Once completed, Emerald Sail processes this document and submits it to the charter company. It is paramount to understand that only individuals explicitly listed on this official Crew List are legally permitted to board and remain on the catamaran during your charter. This ensures compliance with maritime regulations and smooth sailing through all ports of call.
THE PERSONAL CONNECTION

As the excitement reaches its peak - roughly 10 to 15 days before departure - you’ll receive a personal call from your Crew (the Captain and the Chef). This is a crucial moment in your journey. This conversation is your chance to discuss the finer details of your charter, refine the itinerary based on the latest weather forecasts, and go over any last-minute provisioning requests. It’s the perfect time to ask those "little questions" and establish a direct rapport with the people who will be making your dreams come true. By the time you hang up, you'll feel like you're visiting old friends.
PROTECTING YOUR VOYAGE: TRAVEL CANCELLATION INSURANCE

One of the smartest moves you can make after booking is securing Travel Cancellation Insurance. This isn't just standard trip insurance; it’s a specialized product designed for the unique needs of yacht charterers.

The core benefit is protection against the unexpected - whether it’s a cancellation due to health issues, a trip interruption, or even weather-related delays. Crucially for our US-based guests, standard US medical insurance often only covers you within the continental USA. This specialized insurance provides comprehensive medical coverage that is active in the USVI, BVI, and the Bahamas. It also covers emergency medical evacuations, which is vital when you're exploring secluded island chains. It’s the ultimate safety net that ensures your investment and your health are protected, no matter where the wind takes you.
PROVISIONING & PREPARATION: STOCKING THE SHIP FOR PERFECTION

Behind the scenes, our dedicated team takes your completed Preference Sheet and springs into action. Your yacht will be laden with the freshest local produce, premium spirits, and every special request you've made. Every bottle and every ingredient is carefully selected and stowed away. We handle all the heavy lifting, so you don't have to lift a finger.
ARRIVAL & THE GRAND WELCOME: STEPPING ABOARD YOUR DREAM

We ensure your arrival is as elegant as the charter itself, coordinating luxury transfers directly to the marina. As you approach your magnificent yacht, you'll be greeted by your crew in crisp uniforms, holding silver trays with cold towels and colorful tropical welcome drinks. This is the moment you step into a world where every whim is catered to.
SETTING SAIL: YOUR ADVENTURE STARTS

With the lines released and the sails catching the wind, your bespoke voyage officially begins. The sound of the waves and the breathtaking views will transport you to a state of pure bliss. This is where memories are made, horizons are explored, and the world simply melts away.

The journey after booking your Emerald Sail yacht charter is a meticulously planned experience designed for your ultimate comfort. From the first sheet you fill out to the first wave you catch, we are with you every nautical mile. Fair winds and smooth sailing, always!
